Paul Jones, Owner
Physical Therapist and Owner of Jones Physical Therapy
Paul Jones was born and raised in Scotland and educated in England. He came to the US in 1990 and began his career working in hospitals with acute orthopedic patients. Since that time he has worked in a wide variety of healthcare settings including outpatient care, industrial rehabilitation and ergonomics before founding Jones Physical Therapy in 2006.
Paul is active in his profession as the Northshore delegate for the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association (LPTA) and has acted as a policy advisor to the Louisiana State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. He is a member of the Student Advisory Committee for the Delgado Community College Physical Therapist Assistant program. Currently he is working to create a new Electronic Medical Records system specifically for Physical Therapy providers.
DPT Physical Therapy
Mason Porter is a Doctor of Physical Therapy at the Hammond Office of Jones Physical Therapy. He performs evaluations on new patients to create a plan of care that will address a patient’s pain and dysfunction so they can get back to living their lives.
Mason received his Bachelor of Kinesiology from Southeastern Louisiana University while also playing football for the Lions football team. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Missouri State University in 2016 along with his wife, Jenny. Mason enjoys working with all patient populations with special interests in orthopedics and sports medicine. Mason is currently working towards his manual therapy certification through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy.
He discovered his passion for physical therapy from the perfect combination of being able to make a difference in people’s lives and his love of sports and physical activity.
Mason and his wife moved to Hammond after finishing school in 2016. They have a beautiful baby girl, cat named Julio and a dog named Roux. Mason enjoys sports, traveling with his wife, and spending time with friends.
Dr. Garrett Dinicola is a Physical Therapist at the Madisonville clinic of Jones Physical Therapy. Garrett grew up in the Greater New Orleans area before moving to Mandeville, LA for high school.
He graduated from Mandeville High School, where he participated in football and track. Garrett attended Mississippi College to play football for a semester before transferring to LSU in Baton Rouge. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from LSU in Baton Rouge with a B.S. Kinesiology with a concentration in Human Movement Science.
Garrett then earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from LSUHSC-Shreveport. He currently lives in Madisonville, LA. and enjoys attending music concerts/festivals, sporting events, exercising and hanging out with family and friends. He’s a huge LSU athletics, Saints, and Pelicans fan.

Ian Goodwin is a Physical Therapist Assistant at the Hammond Clinic and will guide and progress patients through their plan of care using exercises and other procedures with the goal of returning them to pain free living.
Ian attended Southeastern Louisiana University for prerequisite courses and received his Physical Therapist Assistant Degree from Delgado Community College in 2016. His professional interests include manual therapy and Kinesiotaping. Being a people person, he loves getting to know his patients and helping improve their lives.
From Albany, Louisiana, Ian is a longstanding local resident of the Hammond area. His interests include sports, working out, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Shakyra Cooper DPT
Dr. Shakyra Cooper is a Physical Therapist at the Madisonville location of Jones Physical Therapy. Shakyra was born in Garden City, Kansas; however, she calls Covington her home. Shakyra attended Southern Lousiana University and received her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration of Exercise Science.
During her time at SELU, she discovered her love for Physical Therapy through her internship and working as a Physical Therapy Technician. Shakyra obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at LSUHSC in Shreveport. Shakyra currently lives in Ponchatoula, LA., and enjoys listening to music, exercising, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
